"I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee."

(Psalms 22:22 KJV)

"Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee."

(Hebrews 2:12 KJV)

Hebrews 2:12 reminds me of Advent 2006 when I stood before the congregation at Huguenot Road Baptist Church with Pastor Burt Browning and became a member there.  HRBC has a beautiful traditional/liturgical Protestant sanctuary, and that Sunday the sanctuary was packed, and there were lots of poinsettias and Christmas decorations.  It was a beautiful and wonderful experience.  And I thank the Lord for loving me so much that He blessed me to enjoy such a joyful expression of His grace.  It was a fruit of the spirit of adoption.  And as I look back, it was a great token of God's mercy through Jesus Christ; because He's forgiven me of much, and blessed me with everything.  In Christ Jesus' Name, Amen.

But the main thing was that by God's grace, I had the privilege to confess my Christian profession before the Church.  And my communication is not with a particular denomination or church building, but in heaven.

"For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:20).

O what a privilege, and blessing, and pleasure it is to confess the Holy Name of Jesus Christ the Lord!

In Christ, Prophet Jacob R. Blandford.
