Eber” (Gen. Ch. 10, 11), the father of “Abram the Hebrew” (Gen. 14:13), name means ‘one who crosses over’.  Abram fulfilled this by following God’s calling to move. (see Gen. 12:1-5; Josh. 24:2-3)  But the messianic portion of this prophecy was fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ (Abraham’s seed [see Hebrews 2:16]) when He crossed dimensions (or realms) from heaven to earth; so He could die on the cross to make the ultimate atonement for our sins.  We Christians have also fulfilled this because we are Abraham’s spiritual seed (see Gal. 3:29) and we’ve crossed from darkness to the kingdom of light. (see Col. 1:13; John 5:24)

Abraham crossed over (or immigrated), from the Euphrates river area, “from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan” (Gen. 12:31).  Jesus Christ crossed over from heaven to earth at his holy incarnation.  And then back from earth to heaven at his holy resurrection.

P.S. Moreover, Jesus Christ is from the tribe of Judah (Heb. 7:14; Rev. 5:5).  And Judah’s son was Pharez. (Gen. 38:29; Matt. 1:1-3)  The name “Pharez” means ‘breaking out’.  Well, our Lord Jesus Christ BROKE OUT of the underworld prison at his resurrection!  That’s the prophet Micah called him “THE BREAKER” (Mic. 2:13).
