Excalibur

By Prophet Jacob R. Blandford

The Excalibur sword is from the British mythology and folklore of King Arthur.  The Excalibur was a legendary sword with magical powers and associated the rightful sovereignty of Britain.

Well, our King James Bible also came from Britain.  And it is also likened to a sword (see Eph. 6:17; Heb. 4:12).  And it has spiritual and supernatural (but not magical) power (see Jer. 23:29; Ecc. 8:4; Luke 4:32).  King James I of England is to the Authorized Version like as King Arthur is to the Excalibur sword.  This Authorized Version is the true final and sovereign authority in heaven and earth (see Ps. 96:13, 138:2; Rom. 3:2).

Here’s the next point.  The King James Bible (along with a few Catholic bible versions like the Douay Rheims, NAB, RSV, and NRSV) retain the word “scabbard” in Jeremiah 47:6.  It is missing in most of the modern English versions!

A scabbard is another term for a sheath for a sword.  According to my Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary this word comes from the Anglo-French escalberc.  So we see the connection between the scabbard and the Excalibur.  And this word is retained in the true spiritual Excalibur—viz. the Authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible of 1611.  In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen!

In the rap song “4, 3, 2, 1” LL Cool J said “You hold the rusty swords I swing the Excalibur”.  The rusted out swords are the depleted modern bible versions.  The AV 1611 of the Protestant Reformation is the polished and “whet” (Ps. 7:12, 64:3) razor-bladed (Excalibur) Sword of the Almighty God.

In 1963 Disney released an animated film about King Arthur and the Excalibur called “The Sword in the Stone”.
