King James Speaketh

"By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:4-6)

Hebrews 11 is the great ‘Hall of Faith’ Chapter in the Bible.  In verse 4 we read about Abel’s faith and the Scripture passage says “he being dead yet speaketh”.  The Holy Ghost is telling us that a dead man is speaking.  Well, King James I of England was born on June 19, 1566 and died on March 27, 1625: but his Bible Version (KJV) still speaks to millions of Christians worldwide even after over 400 years of use.  On the title page of the KJV Holy Bible it reads “Translated out of the Original Tongues” and the AKJV is sometimes called “The 1611 Translation”.  Well, isn’t it interesting that the very next verse in Hebrews 11 (verse 5) talks about “translation”???!!!  King James is dead, but the word of God (which he had translated) is still very alive or “quick” (Hebrews 4:12).  And “the word of faith” from Romans 10:8 ties Hebrews 4:12 in with Hebrews Chapter 11!

The passage says “God testifying of his gifts”.  The word ‘testify’ is the same root word where we get ‘testament”—therefore God testifies in the King James Bible containing the Old and New Testaments!

When Maze Jackson used to preach he’d say ‘King James is still alive!’

In Jesus Christ’s holy name, Amen & Amen.
