David the angel & David the king

By Prophet Jacob R. Blandford

David is called an “angel of God” four times in 1st and 2nd Samuel (see 1 Sam. 29:9; 2 Sam. 14:17, 20, 19:27).  That’s interesting because there are four angelic cherubims before God’s throne (see Ezek. 1:5; Rev. 4:6-7).  And there are four Gospels (St. Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke, and St. John) that tell about the earthly life of Jesus Christ the son of David (see Matt. 1:1; 2 Tim. 2:8; Rev. 5:5).  And Jesus is also called an “angel of God” by Apostle Paul (see Acts 27:23; Gal. 4:14). See also Gen. 48:16 and Is. 63:9.

David was also a king.  The first time the word "king" appears in the New Testament, it is in reference to King David (Matt. 1:6). In all 4 Gospels we read about the title and superscription placed on Jesus' Cross.  All four gospel accounts said he was "THE KING" (Matt. 27:37; Mark 15:26; Luke 23:38; John 19:19).  Well, that's interesting because there are exactly 4 Books of Kings in the Bible... 1 & 2 Samuel (1 & 2 Kings) and 1 & 2 Kings (3 & 4 Kings). (But you'll need a King James Bible that preserves the 1611 Book headings to see that.) The 4 Books of the Kings tell the story of David's ascension of the throne of Judah and Israel, and the lineage of kings that followed his dynasty.
