Douay-Rheims Bible

'Heretofore, the success of English Protestantism had been clearly attributable to her possession of God's Word in the vernacular. In 1582, Rome gave tacit endorsement to the adage, "If you can't beat them, join them" by producing her own English version of the New Testament as rendered by the Jesuit scholars at Reims (the Old Testament was completed in Douai and published in 1610).'[i]

'The Douay-Rheims "Bible" was a translation of the Latin Vulgate and therefore contained the multiple perversities of the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus. With education as their forte, the Jesuits would henceforth seek to undermine the Authorized Version with an appeal to superior manuscripts, superior being determined by age. Dr. Gipp writes:

The Jesuits' task was to entice Protestant scholarship back to Rome. They knew that they could not wean the leaders of Protestantism back into Rome as long as the stubborn "heretics" clung to the pure text of the Reformers. This Bible would have to be replaced with one which contained pro-Roman Catholic readings of Jerome's Vulgate and the Jesuit translation of 1582. It would be necessary to "educate" the Protestant scholars to believe that their Reformation Text was unreliable and that their Authorized Version was "not scholarly." Once thus programmed, the egotistical scholars would spontaneously attack their own Bible and believe they were helping God.'[ii]

Douay Version – an English translation of the Vulgate used by Roman Catholics[iii]

The choice is still the same for Christians as it was in the 17^th century: the KJV or the Douay-Rheims. Protestant or Catholic. Scriptural traditions (see II Thess. 2:15, 3:6) or heretical traditions of men (see Mark 7:13; Titus 3:10). In the 21^st century the choice is still the same. The KJV is still the same Holy Bible (which speaks to God's blessing upon it); and the Jesuit's Dark Age text is still the same, only it changed its name from Douay-Rheims to RSV, NRSV, ASV, NASV, NIV, NLT, NWT, etc. They're all Roman Catholic bibles based on mss found in the Vatican Library (B ms) and a monastery trash can (א ms); corruptions of the Words of God, perverted by Gnostic Egyptian philosophers and promoted by Deity downplaying antichrist spirits.

'In our work The Christian's Handbook of Manuscript Evidence, we pointed out (and listed) more than twenty verses to prove our thesis—that the ASV (1901) recommended by Wheaton, Falwell, Moody, Dallas, Fuller, etc., was the Dark Age Jesuit Bible of 1582 restored via Westcott and Hort in 1881-1884. This thesis was well known to Dean Burgon nearly 100 years ago.'[iv]

‘Its [Vaticanus (B)] immediate use to suppress the Reformation and its subsequent release in 1582, as the Jesuit-Rheims Bible, are logical, considering the manuscript’s omission of anti-Catholic sections and books (i.e., Hebrews 9:14, Revelation, etc.). Its Catholic ‘tone’ is evidenced by the fact that at Vatican Council II, each bishop was given his own copy with an introduction by Jesuit priest, Carlo Martini.’[vi]

We see here from Riplinger’s remarks that the 1582 was an English mirror of the ‘B’ manuscript and the Latin Vulgate; which was used as a Roman Catholic, counter-Reformation weapon against Protestantism and the Textus Receptus.

Following Grady’s ‘Glossary of Terms’ in Final Authority (see Douay-Rheims, Latin Vulgate, and Vaticanus), we can clearly see that the 1582 Jesuit Rheims text is an English translation of Vaticanus B. By the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, I’ve been able to correlate some of the 1582 against the 1611—and I’ve seen that the 1582 is very depraved, antichrist, corrupt, and wretched like all other new perversions. Yet the basis of the 1582 is this Origeinian Vaticanus (B)—and this mss manuscript is ‘all the rave’ with modern ‘scholars’ they are idolizing??? AGAIN, just look at Vaticanus’ namesake: it’s the HQ for the most notorious, long-standing persecutors of Bible-believers on earth! (Textus Receptus Bible-believing Christians to be exact.) And no marvel, their text (B) is a blatant corruption of the martyr’s sword (TR)!!!
