Thou Hast Fitted Me

By Prophet Jacob R. Blandford

My favorite kind of hat is the New Era 59Fifty fitted hat.  My hat size is 7 ½ fitted.  I have 33 of these hats and I ordered two more Marlins hats today.  With that said, I noticed on the orders of these hats that the term “fitted” is used.  And it reminded me of a KJB marginal note I had recently read.  The note is found in Hebrews 10:5 where the Holy Ghost is discussing the holy Incarnation.  The Spirit of God moved Paul to quote Psalm 40 and when he did the Apostle rendered it “a body hast thou prepared me”.  This is actually the most significant Christian doctrine in the New Testament; and it pertains to “the doctrine of Christ” which is mentioned in the same Epistle (Heb. 6:1).  But back to Hebrews 10:5.  In the original AV 1611 margin, the phrase “a body hast thou prepared me” has an alternate reading that goes as follows: “thou hast fitted me”.  God the Father “fitted” Jesus Christ with a human body; and of course because He was and is the Son of God, his body was sinless (Heb. 4:15, 7:26) and his blood was divine (Acts 20:28).  Amen.  But in a bit of a playful manner, I find it interesting that the Holy Bible uses the same terminology we continue to use today in modern America to describe our hats.  I’ve been collecting these New Era “fitted” hats for over a decade and it is nice to know this word came from the Bible.  Come to think of it, the New Testament dispensation is a spiritual ‘new era’ (just like the name of the hat company!)
