“…the isles shall
wait for his law.” (Isaiah 42:4)
By Prophet Jacob R. Blandford
This passage of Holy Scripture and
the preceding passages are full of prophetic meanings and profoundly deep
implications. Firstly, the first 3
verses of this Chapter 42 of Isaiah are without question about Jesus Christ;
and this is confirmed in St. Matthew’s Gospel because under the inspiration of
the Holy Ghost, Matthew quotes these Scriptures in Matthew 12:17-21. Also this is highly prophetic because these
Scriptures prophesy of the calling of the Gentiles. The LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was
once only known to the Jewish people; but Isaiah and Matthew both prophesied
that through the Son of God, the heathen would soon know the LORD.
And yet we find another hidden
prophecy in these sacred passages which relates to the Holy Scriptures God has
preserved for us this present day: the King James Bible. Isaiah 42:4 says, “…the isles shall wait for
his law.” Keep in mind that this passage
is found right in the midst of Isaiah prophesying of the Gentiles’ calling. Therefore the reference to “…the isles…” is
also a reference to Gentile regions of the world. Isaiah also said that these heathen areas of
the world would “…wait for his law.”, and thus become proselytes to the LORD’S
holy religion.
Now more specifically we’ll delve
into this spectrum of spectacular prophecy!
The law that Isaiah speaks of is undoubtedly the word of God. Now one of these Gentile or heathen isles
that waited for the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ was England. England
is often called the “Isle”. King James
referred to his kingdom as the Isle. As
a matter of fact, if any nation could be described as an “Isle” England
would come to mind because that’s what it is; it’s surrounded by water. And England
did wait sometime to become a kingdom
of Christendom and this was made
possible by the evangelistic efforts those preaching the Gospel of Christ and
the spreading of his word. Some of these
men who were vessels of God to distribute His word in England
were… the Lollards, Wycliffe, Tyndale, Coverdale, and Matthews.
These men and their followers created good translations of God’s word
into the English language. Their works
were good, but not complete. But God
wasn’t done. When King James took the
throne of Great Britain
he commissioned a new translation of God’s word. With this translation the best God-preserved Received
Text manuscripts were used, plus the previous good translations by godly
Christian Englishmen were utilized, and God worked through forty-eight
incredibly skilled Christian scholars to complete the 1611 translation. Thus “…the crooked shall be made straight,
and the rough places plain” (Is. 40:4); the old translations were smoothed
over, refined, and precisely articulated. Thus England
was blessed by God through faith in Jesus Christ with a clean, perfect Holy Bible! (Keep
is mind; this perfect translation was made possible by the Almighty God’s
sovereign will and His promise to preserve His Holy Writ. And had he not done it in such a fashion, it
is quite possible that the preserved Holy Scriptures would not be accessible to
the common man today. They would either
be lost and illegible in ancient manuscripts turned to dust, or hoarded and
destroyed by the Roman Catholic Church.)
Therefore we say that Protestant England
was blessed with the blessing of Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose
God is the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.” When England
received the word of God, they then developed the wisdom, strength, and fortitude
to resist the Catholic Church. When England
resisted the Catholic Church this made it possible for Protestantism and
Bible-based Christianity to flourish: which sparked the English
Reformation. And the English Reformation
sparked the reign of the Christian King James VI & I,
who was God’s vessel for blessing the end time world with a perfect English
Bible! King James is the founding
monarch of America
and he is saluted in the Mayflower Compact of 1620. Also, his Translation of the Bible would
quickly become the Holy Text of Colonial America. And consequently, America
became the greatest Protestant and Evangelical nation the world has ever known.
Hallelujah and Alleluia,
in Jesus Christ’s Name I pray, Amen & Amen.
