James Chapter 1

The Perfect Word of God

By Prophet Jacob R. Blandford

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." (James 1:17)

"Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures." (James 1:18)

"Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls." (James 1:21)

"But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." (James 1:25)

James Chapter 1 gives us “infallible proofs” (Acts 1:3) that the King James Bible is the infallible word of God.  Do you think the Reformers (who utilized the Textus Receptus) had the true word of God when they broke away from Rome?  I do.  I think the catholic popes, cardinals, bishops, and priests were the heretics and apostates.  And the bible-believing martyrs who gave their lives “for the word of God” (Rev. 1:9, 6:9, 20:4) were the ones with “the holy scriptures” (Rom. 1:2; 2 Tim. 3:15).  These martyrs were ‘on fire for God’ spiritually and literally: many being burnt at the stake by papists.  The Protestants put the word of God above man-made traditions and superstitions (see Matthew 15 & Mark 7).  Because of the Reformers faith in the word of God: they were able to bring the word of God to the common man.  King James (who was a great reformer himself and vehemently opposed Rome) put the word of God back into the hands of the common man.  His Translation represents the purest form of all the “former translations” which the Protestants had previously used for their spiritual exploits.  That caused the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Reformation, and the Industrial Revolution.  It also made England and America the greatest nations on earth.  It also made the great missionary movement of the 18th and 19th centuries.  It established countless churches in America.  It caused awakenings and revivals.  And brought more souls into the kingdom of God than any other translation has or will.  Meanwhile, Rome was still trying to cling to her ignorance and darkness which led men into desperation, darkness, ignorance, religious bondage, and spiritual death all through the dark ages.  The Protestants had had enough of Rome’s lies and darkness!  It was time to let the true light of Christ shine!  We today, should still abhor Rome and all her deceptive religious con-artists.  Take the “text” out of the “context” and your left with a “con”.  Rome got to prove what she was all about when she ruled the world in the medieval period.  It was a horrible time and we don’t need that anymore.  Some historians have actually called it ‘Satan’s millennial reign’ because the dark ages lasted from about 500-1500 Anno Domini.  The official bible of Rome during that time was Jerome’s vulgate.  The Latin Vulgate (not to be confused with the Old Vulgate or Itala) was a perverted bible comparable the Jesuit Rheims 1582 dark age bible.  It wasn’t until Erasmus, Luther, and Tyndale discovered the true Greek text that Christians began to shake off the shackles of Romanism.  Therefore you don’t have to be a genius or super-spiritual to assume that the Catholics had a bad bible and a bad religion, while the Protestants had the true Bible (which God promised He would preserve in Psalm 12) and a faith much more akin to the New Testament apostolic faith (Jude 3).  Amen.  Having laid down the fact that the Protestant Bible (if not completely true) is much closer to the truth than the Roman Catholic bible, I now come to my proof text—James 1.  James is a General Epistle towards the end of the Bible in the King James Bible.  And you should note that the name “James” is not only the name of James Zebedee the apostle, but also the name of King “James” who had this very Bible translated in 1611.  Therefore, this Epistle should give us some insight into the KJV translation itself.  And it does.  Look at verse 17: it says “every good and PERFECT gift… cometh down from the Father”.  Well, you may ask, ‘what is a perfect gift’.  Well, the Bible is.  Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) said “In regard to this Great Book, I have but to say, I believe the Bible is the best gift God has given to man. All the good Saviour gave to the world was communicated through this Book.” (‘America’s God and Country: Encyclopedia of Quotations’ by William J. Federer, page 388)  Now look at verse 25, here the Bible is called “the PERFECT law of liberty”.  And now back to verse 17: it says “with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning”.  We call that the doctrine of the immutability of God (from Hebrews 6:17-18 and Malachi 3:6).  And if God doesn’t change, CERTAINLY His word will not change either (see Matthew 24:35) because He has magnified His word above all his name (Ps. 138:2).  Not only this, but this same chapter (James 1) tells that we are born-again by the word (verse 18 [cf. 1 Peter 1:23]) and our souls are saved by the word (verse 21).  If you believe the KJV is erroneous like many Laodicean ministers: then you believe—that in Philadelphia (the church that KEPT God’s word [Rev. 3:7-13]) viz. the greatest stage of Christian development, evangelism, and worship (all our good hymn writers and preachers were of Philadelphia)—they had an invalid new birth and salvation because their Bible was wrong!  That borderlines blasphemy!  And extremely ignorant too!  The modern perversions have not improved upon our Protestant forefathers’ faith.  As a matter of fact, you are warned by the Holy Ghost NOT to remove ancient/old landmarks (Prov. 22:28, 23:10)!!!  They have introduced confusion (1 Cor. 14:33), heresy (1 Cor. 11:19), and lukewarm apostate Christianity (Rev. 3:14-16; 2 Thess. 2:3) and paved the way back to the antichrist and Roman Catholicism.  Ecumenicism is just a fancy word for the antichrist’s one world religion and government of Revelation Chapter 13.  It is true; today we have greater technology, transportation, communication, and printing abilities. (Daniel 12:4)  Far greater; but for the most part it has been used to proliferate trash not truth.  According to James 4:12 "There is ONE lawgiver..." viz. King James VI & I!  We need to go back to “the old paths” of Jeremiah 6:16 and look at what the apostle James said about the nature of the Bible (not the heady scholars).  There is only one Bible that can be considered “perfect”.  It is the Authorized Version.  Dear brother or sister in Christ: be “valiant for the truth” (Jeremiah 9:3).  The Alexandrian versions are a sick joke.  In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
