Multiply

“Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.” (Jude 2 KJV)

Today I was going on a walk at sunset and I pulled out my Gideons New Testament and began reading the General Epistle of Jude.  I was thanking God because he said I’m sanctified, preserved, and called (Jude 1).  Then I got to verse 2 where the Holy Ghost said mercy, peace, and love be “multiplied”.  Apostle Peter made similar statements in 1 Peter 1:2 & 2 Peter 1:2.  And Apostle Paul prayed our seeds would be multiplied (2 Cor. 9:10).  And there’s also that great Abrahamic promise in Hebrews 6:14 about multiplication.

But this got me thinking about the Virginia Lottery.  On many of their games they have what’s called a ‘multiplier’.  This basically means that if you buy the multiplier and win the game, you win a multiplied amount.

Well, spiritual speaking, if we walk with our Lord Jesus Christ, and obey him, he will also send multiplication into our lives.  I can think of none better than what Apostle Jude promised us: mercy, peace, and love!  In Jesus Christ’s holy and majestic name, Amen & Amen.
