A Prophetic Preview (1 Chr. Ch. 29)

1 Chronicles Chapter 29 gives a stunning prophetic portrait of the Lord Jesus Christ’s Millennial Kingdom.  For one, the temple is being dedicated: and that’s prophetic because the Old Testament teaches that when the Messiah comes he will build his temple (see Mal. 3:1; Amos 9:11; Is. 2:2; Haggai 2:9; Ezek. 40-48).  Also, we have Solomon (the son of David) as the king.  The Lord Jesus Christ is also a son of David (see Matt. 1:1; 2 Tim. 2:8), or rather THE son of David.  Solomon means ‘peace’ or in Hebrew ‘shalom’.  Jesus Christ is “The Prince of Peace'' according to Is. 9:6.  Solomon then sits on “the throne of the LORD” (v. 23)—that’s the same millennial throne Jeremiah predicted in Jer. 3:17. And was promised to the Lord Jesus Christ by the angel Gabriel in Luke 1:32-33.  Also, the priest Zadok is there at Solomon’s coronation (see v. 22)—and according to Ezekiel’s details about the Millennium, the sons of Zadok will be the Messiah’s ministers (see Ezek. 40:46, 43:19, 44:15, 48:11). ¶ Also the word "thousand" appears three times in verse 21, like it does six times in Revelation 20: where John the Revelator is describing the Millennium.  'Millennium' is the Latin word for 'thousand'.
